The Prayers Of the People (POP) Young Professionals Award is presented to no more than five young adults every year. This award highlights commitment to God and spirituality within arenas of professional work and ministry. The recipients of the award represent at least three faith communities, a foundation, and healthcare organization.
Recognizing young adults who show Christ’s love for others everyday by making a positive impact on others. Whether in their faith communities, their careers or through volunteer opportunities, the people who are awarded the POP Young Professionals Award show compassion and exuberance for God’s Word.
Each Young Adult who receives the POP Young Professionals Award exemplifies dedication, service, faithfulness, and spirituality in all aspects of their life. The recipients will weave their love of God throughout their personal and professional lives. The leadership of each faith community, foundations, and healthcare organization will be asked to participate in selecting the Young Adult deserving of this honor.
The Young Professional Award is presented to honorees at a POP community event.

Brent Charles Nicholas, Mortgage Loan Officer
BRENT CHARLES NICHOLAS was chosen for the YOUNG PROFESSIONALS’
AWARD 2023! As a Mortgage Loan Officer, Brent has worked for Great Plains Bank
in Enid, Oklahoma for almost three years. After traveling multiple times to M.D.
Anderson Cancer Center over several years to complete his treatments, Brent was
then able to have a Stem Cell Transplant on March 30, 2021, with his twin brother,
John, donating his cells! On March 30, 2022, Brent celebrated his “Second Birthday”
– one year after the engraftment of the new cells took place!
Brent commented on the Spiritual Care he has received through PRAYERS OF THE
PEOPLE; “You have always been the bridge to God I have needed.”
