2025 Prayer Breakfast Speaker: Allan DuPont
presenting “It’s JUST One Small Step!”

Allan DuPont is a committed follower of Jesus Christ and is here to serve.

He has been a member of First Presbyterian Church of Houston since 1987. He is an Elder elected by the congregation in 1992, Much of his time is now spent as a member of the Boomer Sunday School Class, as a long-time member of the Chancel Choir and as a participant in two Bible study groups. Over the years he has supported several mission entities physically & monetarily such as the Nehemiah Center (currently on the Board of Directors), Main Street Ministries, Prayers of the People, Precision Learning Institute, and Africa Renewal Ministries.

His career was solely at the NASA Lyndon B. Johnson Space Center participating in the ongoing programs for 53 years, retiring in 2016. His expertise in orbital mechanics, guidance, navigation & control was applied to support most of the NASA programs (Gemini, Apollo, Skylab, Space Shuttle, International Space Station), a few US Air Force programs (can’t tell you), several private enterprise programs (SpaceX Dragon & Dragon 2, Northrop Cygnus etc.) and two international partner programs (European Automated Transfer Vehicle, Japanese H-II Transfer Vehicle). The last half of his career was spent as Lead Engineer supporting the International Space Station Program managing a budget of over $35M.

He was born and grew up in Hawaii. He left, obtaining a BS in Aerospace Engineering from the University of Cincinnati, an MBA from the University of Houston and a career with NASA. He is married to Kay with an immediate family that consists of three children, 7 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.

2024 Prayer Breakfast Speaker: Michael Watford

We are honored to welcome Michael Watford as our speaker for this year’s Prayer Breakfast. Mike grew up in a military family, frequently relocating, which he credits for instilling in him a deep sense of resilience and focus on creating stability in life. As the first in his family to attend college, Mike graduated with honors in finance from the University of Florida, supported by the General H. Arnold Scholarship. He went on to earn his MBA at the University of New Orleans while building a successful career with Shell Oil Company, eventually leading two energy companies. His extensive leadership includes serving as Past Chairman of the Independent Producers Association of America and holding various other influential positions in the energy sector.

Beyond his professional achievements, Mike’s personal journey has been shaped by both joy and sorrow. A devoted father to two wonderful young adults, Mike’s life took a significant turn with the passing of his wife, Joanne, which led him to re-evaluate his priorities and rededicate his efforts to serving others. He has been a tremendous supporter of PRAYERS OF THE PEOPLE, sharing not only his business acumen but also his generous spirit as a member of the Advisory Committee. Alongside his wife Carol, Mike has made a profound impact through their philanthropic work, particularly with Northwest Assistance Ministries and Boys and Girls Country, where their efforts have touched countless lives.

Mike and Carol’s dedication to giving back serves as an inspiration to all of us, and we are grateful for the opportunity to hear his insights and reflections.
