Volunteer with PRAYERS OF THE PEOPLE

Volunteer with PRAYERS OF THE PEOPLE

Be Present. Bring Comfort. Serve with Compassion.

PRAYERS OF THE PEOPLE exists to offer spiritual care, prayer, encouragement, and compassionate presence to patients, families, caregivers, and communities. Whether you feel called to serve at the bedside as a Volunteer Lay Chaplain or support special events and ministry activities, there is a meaningful place for you to serve.

Choose Your Volunteer Path

Become a Volunteer Lay Chaplain

Volunteer Lay Chaplains are trained to offer prayer, encouragement, and compassionate spiritual care in hospitals and healthcare settings. This ministry is for those who feel called to be present with others during moments of illness, uncertainty, grief, hope, and healing.

Volunteer Lay Chaplains may serve by:

  • Visiting patients and family members
  • Offering prayer and spiritual encouragement
  • Providing a calm and compassionate presence
  • Supporting hospital staff through spiritual care partnership
  • Participating in training, shadowing, and continuing education

Sign up if you are interested in becoming a Volunteer Lay Chaplain.

Volunteer for Events and Activities

Not everyone is called to bedside visitation, but many are called to support the mission through hospitality, planning, outreach, and special events. Event and activity volunteers help strengthen the ministry by serving behind the scenes and alongside the community.

Event and activity volunteers may help with:

  • Fundraising events
  • Community outreach activities
  • Training day support
  • Hospitality and registration
  • Setup, cleanup, and logistics
  • Special ministry projects

Sign up if you would like to support events, outreach, and ministry activities.
